Exuding an enigmatic air of grandeur, both on and off
course, Royal Portrush is an unbelievable experience for any visitor.
The Dunluce Course, designed by Harry S Colt is consistently rated among
the world’s top courses. It is the only course in Ireland to have
held the Open Championship, way back in 1951 over half a century ago.
Many call for a return but with the clamour for hospitality it is sadly
not a viable option nowadays.
With sloping terrain and small greens protected by untamed rough and hummocks
it is a gruelling, intimidating course – a stern test even if on
top of your game.
The Valley Course however can be described as a deserved respite after
the Dunluce, but be warned, it will bite hard when you least expect it.
