Set
between rolling sand dunes and the Atlantic Ocean, the seaside village
of Castlerock boasts a Championship 18 hole golf course as well as a wonderfully
scenic 9-hole course.
The classic links of the Mussenden Course has some unforgettable holes,
with the infamous 4th, ‘Leg O’Mutton’, being the most
talked about amongst the friendly bunch of members and visitors alike.
It is a 200-yard par 3 with a railway to the right, a burn to the left
and a daunting raised green.
The course provides further unforgiving burns and raised greens as its
defences and when the wind blows can prove to be one hell of a white-knuckle
ride.
